Use your ticket correctly

First validate, then travel
For your ticket to be valid during your journey, please validate it before starting the journey.

Single tickets
Single tickets can be purchased directly from the bus driver. You’ll receive a receipt, which is a valid ticket and requires no further validation.

Pay with CleverCard

With your CleverCard chip card you can buy bus tickets quickly, easily and cash-free in the mona area Kempten and northern Oberallgäu. Validate your ticket by way of a card reader, which you’ll find directly near the bus driver or further towards the rear end of the bus. For each individual journey, the correct amount will be deducted from your chip card – and the exact ticket price will always be at hand.

How to validate your ticket:

  • First choose the adult or children rate, as well as the number of persons travelling. Next choose the number of zones. Zone 0 is automatically pre-set.
  • Finally, hold your chip card close to the ticket validator. A whistle sound and the green lamp blinking will confirm the transaction.
  • Three short whistling sounds and the red lamp blinking indicate a fault. Press the C button and repeat the process, or request assistance from the bus driver.

Bus travelling with monthly or year travel tickets, guest cards or holiday cards

Is your chip card loaded with a seasonal ticket, a guest card or holiday card? Then you’ll need to present your chip card with every journey.

It’s easy:

  • Hold your chip card close to the ticket validator.
  • A whistle sound and the green lamp blinking will confirm that you’re registered for the journey.
  • Three short whistling sounds and the red lamp blinking indicate a fault. Press the C button and repeat the process, or request assistance from the bus driver.

See chart for more guidance or inquire at the Customer Service Centre for a more detailed instruction manual on CleverCard and all other chip cards.

Be aware! Your ticket is only valid when using your chip card correctly. Otherwise, you may be faced with increased transport charges.
