Accessibility with mona

Bus travel with a wheel chair, walking aid or a pram: mona is committed to improving mobility in the Allgäu region. This particularly refers to accessibility when travelling by bus.

In the Kempten area, only low-floor buses are in operation; in the surrounding region, as well as in the southern Landkreis Oberallgäu most of the buses have low floors. Many bus stops have already been adapted to low-floor buses: Specially processed curbstones – so called “Kasseler Borde” – facilitate easy boarding at ground level. Bus stops are made clearly distinguishable for blind and visually impaired people by using that special curbstone system.

Our activities to increase accessibility will gradually be extended to cover the entire mona region.

We at the mona transport association are striving to make public transport in the Allgäu region as accessible as possible.
